General need to increase engagement in writing to fulfil requirements of new moderation process.

Apparent inability, in some cases, of transferring GPS knowledge to sustained writing tasks

Children will demonstrate high levels of GPS attainment in written tasks, using grammar and punctuation to further enhance creativity and depth of compositions.

-  Improved pupil progress in writing in all year groups

-  Higher levels of attainment in KS2 SATS, particularly in terms of numbers of children working at greater depth

Development of Mastery Learning

Some children find multi-step tasks and mathematical reasoning to be an issue. These children need to improve their metacognitive skills

Emphasis through learning detectives, monitoring and overt measurement/recognition of learning/ thinking skills

-  Improved performance in  all year groups in reasoning strand

-  Children able to clearly articulate strategies employed using mathematical vocabulary

Intervention groups based on mathematical comprehension and vocabulary
